Steering wheel suddenly and completely breaks away causing complete loss of steering. Cause: Weld with no penatration and poor design. I can't imagine a more serious safty defect.

While driving in reverse out of driveway when steering wheel came apart without a prior warning, steering was completly lost. The cause for the steering wheel to come apart was poor design and poor welding.

Consumer has a problem with the steering wheel. Steering wheel should have a weld holding it to the hub which is fastened to spine, and a nut coming down to hold the spine, it doesn't cover.
