Hail damage Aug 5/24. No rear tailgate glass or windshield available. Genesis dealer says it is on back order from Korea and no idea when it will be available. I bet the same goes for any trim required as well as body panels if paintless dent repair cannot do it. Probably wiper as well as it got snapped off. This is in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Since Aug 5/24 and it is now Oct 4/24. It may need a new roof as the dent repair may cause problems with the panoramic sunroof. The repair shop is set for Oct 29/24 with the stipulation that the repair is Parts Dependent.
$24000.00 CDN estimate for insurance which could go up as problems arise. I hope they have a good deal on a car rental as my insurance tops out at $3000.00 total with the stipulation that since the GV70 is an SUV it needs to be an SUV rental and they give a max of $76.00/ day. If you take a sedan they only pay $44.00/day. And rentals are not available in Calgary , other than Turo, except at the airport for about $150.00/day. The car had been in for first year service with only 4200 km when the hail clobbered it in the uncovered Genesis parking lot. Some dealer cars as well as other customer cars got it as well. I bet any parts are going to the dealer cars first.
