2010 Yukon denali hybrid. We have owned many GMC vehicles and were very confident in our purchase of this vehicle, not only in the reliability of the vehicle, but it's safety for my family as well. I can confidently say after owning this vehicle for more than 7 years, I was wrong. GMC has failed its customers with known issues that cause concern for their safety and well-being. After two years of owning our Yukon, the dash completely cracked out and GMC blamed me for using a well-known cleaning product to clean the dash, which I never used. After much back and forth, we were able to come to an agreement to get it replaced, now after only 85,000 miles the engine is shot. The vehicle has a collapsed lifter, which is a well-known issue, just look up afm failure on google and you get forum after forum of the same issue. Most likely the camshaft was also damaged and the motor will essentially need to be rebuilt. The cost is $6,000 from our local GMC dealership and GMC offer nothing to us except an apology. This is not acceptable and no one should spend $80,000 on a vehicle to experience this. This vehicle was meticulously maintained, regular oil changes and service through the dealership at recommended intervals. This should have never happened. Days later after the afm failure and motor rebuild, the hybrid battery went out and again the car had to be returned back to the dealership for repair. How can anyone have faith in your product if they can not even get 100,000 miles out of their vehicle without these catastrophic failures? they can't. after filing a BBB complaint it took weeks to get a response from GMC of "sorry, we can't help you" I should have known. I will make sure that my situation is well documented and consumers do not make the same mistake I have and purchase an unreliable vehicle from GM. If nothing else maybe they'll be forewarned.
