This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Takata corporation ('takata') has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2007-2011 Cadillac escalade, escalade esv, escalade ext, Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, Yukon XL, and 2009-2011 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500 and GMC Sierra 2500/3500 vehicles. This is based upon takata's decision that front passenger airbag inflators it supplied to GM are defective. GM has submitted to NHTSA a petition for inconsequentiality and NHTSA has granted GM until August 2017 to complete its investigation and to submit all data supporting the petition. If the petition is denied, GM will conduct a recall of the airbag inflators covered by takata's defect information report. For more information visit www.regulations.gov and search for docket no. NHTSA-2016-0124.
Takata recall. I want to pay for the recall and complete the repair at a GMC dealer. I cannot. Nobody can get parts. I want to pay for the part and pay for the repair. While the recall is in limbo, I want to drive a safe vehicle. Please order GM to have user-parts available for user-pay recall repairs - please!. I cannot be held hostage to not being able to repair. I will sign a waiver to not claim the repair price after the recall is official.
Takata airbag recall I have touched base with my dealership several times since May 2016.....I am still waiting for a resolution so that my passengers dont have to sit in the back seat for fear of being punched in the face with shrapnel if the airbag deploys
We bought this Yukon and there is a airbag recall and I called to make appt at the dealer and they said they can't fix it until GMC said it's ok because and to keep driving it. This is not right I have a young son and family that I drive it everyday this can be very dangerous driving the vehicle. Can someone please call me or email me what to do.. thank you [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).'
Takata recall it has been well over a year now and we are still waiting for a remedy? meanwhile driving in Florida isnt scary enough but I have this on my mind ever single time we get in our truck.
Takata recall it has been six months since this recall was issued. This Yukon has been kept and driven for several years in the hot/humid conditions indicated in the recall. I do not feel it is safe, or that the airbags are trustworthy and the dealer cannot/will not repair it and has no estimated date to expect a solution. We are now entering winter, which is the most dangerous time to drive where I live. There are far more accidents, and in turn far more opportunities for the airbags to fail and cause injuries that would not occur if the recall had been resolved.
