Transmission went out. I had the car towed to a garage recommended by the warranty company. While they were checking the transmission, they noticed a code indicating that there was a misfire on cylinder 5. After investigating, they determined that the lifter was bad and the camshaft had damage from it. They also noticed that there were metal shavings in the engine so they got approval from the warranty company to replace the motor. NOW we are sitting waiting on a motor. Apparently GM isn't making the bearings and no one can rebuild.
This is a very common issue and now they aren't making the parts needed to fix it. Jasper engines said that the motor has been on back order since 1/2022. The company that my son works for has lost several Tahoe's with the same engine problem. There are class action lawsuits being filed over this issue. Why won't they just start making the parts needed to fix it? I still owe $32,000 on a car that is sitting on a repair lot with no return expected.
