On the replacement transmission GMC requires the purchase of a Transmission Cooler Bypass valve. $107.00 If this is not purchased it voids the warranty. They had to know about this heat problem years ago. Where was the recall. 94,253 great miles then boom, it stopped working. Ended up on a tow truck.l Help.
My Yukon still looks new, it’s only six years old. But it’s in the shop, getting a rebuilt transmission that’s going to cost me $6000. Four days ago it wouldn’t shift into overdrive on the interstate. The next day it began not wanting to shift into any of the lower gears and the rpms would get high. Now I find out that I have two different friends who’ve had to get new transmissions in their Tahoes. And there are a million similar stories on the internet.
The GMC dealership working on my car is the same one where I bought it. They told me they’d have a loaner for me. Of course they did not have one when I got there. They drove me to Enterprise to get a rental, which they will not cover. Enterprise acted all worried because they didn’t know I was coming. The only car they had was a Chevy Spark - it’s a death trap smaller than my golf cart. I’m really disgusted with the poor service and faulty transmission. It should definitely be a recall. So glad I wasn’t stranded on the interstate!
