TSB Document:
Affected Component: SEATS
- Summary
- This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about the vehicles equipped with power folding 3rd row seat and how to diagnosis and repair seats that do not fold down completely or the 60% side does not fold even with the 40% side. Technician will inspect under the 3rd row seat for any objects that will prevent the seat from folding as designed. If the center seat belt from the roof is connected to the seat belt buckle or any of the seat belt buckles not properly stowed in the seat cushion pockets this will prevent the seat from properly folding. Also check under the 60% seat for the wire harness routing. If the harness is not routed correctly or seat connector is not properly attached to the seat bracket the seat will not fold down correctly. If the wire harness or connector is found out of place, reroute the seat harness or use a zip tie for the connector to the bracket. If the concern is still present remove the two rubber bumpers form the 60% seat side rails. After removing the rubber bumpers install a piece of Kent Automotive BRS Flocking tape P/N KT13487, or equivalent, in place of the rubber bumper.
