- Summary
- This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on a concern of body pressure booming. This concern may be more noticeable when the active fuel management is engages and the engine is in 4 cylinder mode. The roof sheet metal may not be attached to the roof bows any longer. Technician is to follow the steps to apply vibration control material between the roof bow and the roof sheet metal. Any roof bow that is no longer bonded to the sheet metal must be repaired. Remove the old material with an appropriate tool. Once the old material is removed install the appropriate thickness foam shim to fill the gap between the roof sheet metal and the roof bow. The foam should be placed in 5 inch lengths and placed in 5 locations along the bow using vibration control material to fill the distance between the foam shim. If the space between the bow is 6 millimeters or less just use the vibration control material.
