This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have harsh concerns. Technician are advised to use GDS2 software to confirm which shift is causing the concern. On low mileage vehicles technician are instructed to perform a drive learn procedure. On higher mileage vehicles technicians are instructed to remove the transmission fluid pan and inspect for debris. If debris is found technicians should disassemble and inspect for root cause of the concern and repair the transmission as needed. If no debris is found technicians are advised to replace the valve body.
