This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a Malfunction Indicator Lamp. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code P16F3 as a current or history code in the Transmission Control Module. Technician will need to insure that the Diagnostic Trouble Code P16F3 is set in the Transmission Control Module. If the Diagnostic Trouble Code is set in the Transmission Control Module Technician will need to contact General Motors Technical Assistance Center for further assistance.
