Yukon SLT 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 93,000 miles

AC stopped working brought it to a mechanic 93000 miles plus AC stopped working blowing warm air at that mileage and the year of the vehicle supposedly the condenser has a leak in it and I read online that there's major issues with the GMC Yukon 2015 with other AC leaks waiting to find out if there's a recall.

MY AC CONDENSER WENT ON MY 2015 GMC YUKON. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY OFFERED A "SPECIAL" REPLACING THAT PARTICULAR PART BUT IT EXPIRED. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY LETTERS OR EMAILS ON THIS OFFER.

I HAVE A PRE OWNED WARRANTY UP TO THE YEAR 2021 OR 100,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE. THE GM DEALER SAID THIS IS NOT COVERED AND THE COST IS AT LEAST $1200 OR MORE. I NOTIFIED GM CORPORATE OFFICE AND THEY CONFIRMED IT WAS A SPECIAL GIVEN ON THAT AC CONDENSER PART ( NOT A RECALL) BUT THE OFFER IS UNTIL YEAR 2020 OR 64,009 MILES OR WHATEVER COMES FIRST. THEY OFFERED ME A $100 VOUCHER TOWARDS MY SERVICE AND TELL ME MY CAR IS OLD AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS. WELL MY VEHICLE REACHED 64,000K AND AC RAN HOT WHILE TRAVELING OUT OF TOWN FROM NEW YORK ON VACATION TO SOUTH CAROLINA. SO THIS EXPENSE SUCKS FOR ME.

Yukon XL/SLT

A/C went out right after 50k miles. Fortunately a friend told me about the service advisory to fix it. Took it in and big surprise, it was the same issue as everyone else.

When I purchased the car I purchased the Platinum extended warranty. I was told by the Dealership at the time they warranty would extend out my coverage to 100,000 miles or 5 years. I specifically told them I do not want double coverage on warranties. The car hit 60,000 and the extended warranty is no good. The dealership lied and sold me a bill of goods. Now the HVAC condenser went out which requires replacement, discharge and recharge - all priced separately. This would have been covered under the Platinum warranty.

Ultimately I am responsible for what I sign, but when you spend hours at the dealership buying the car as they take their time doing paperwork and you only have the brochures to review the fine print is hidden, and people become fatigued and impatient. GM trucks and indeed the company itself has no integrity.
