I just want to start by saying that there is not much out there to help with this repair, and small shop mechanics will try to replace brakes, throttle position sensors, throttle body, trans solenoid, sensors and all sorts of things to remedy this. [ currently about $700 deep in a issue that is still occurring ]
When I start to roll away from a stop light/sign everything starts rolling as normal, then about 5-10 mph BAM!!! nothing...cant move forward simply stuck in the middle of the road. " Traction active " error message displays on instrument cluster, and if you listen closely you can hear a faint whining noise from what I can tell is the front end...ish.
Now when I first got the Yukon this was all that happened. So if you let off of the gas when this happens then I can normally just take off again, and get out of the intersection. As it got worse I figured out that if I turned off traction control, that it would let me drive fine [ has never happened with traction control disabled ].
Recently when I may forget to turn off traction control and I get surprise stuck message, additionally I am now hearing a ratchet noise, maybe grinding or a clunk sometimes. This noise was so bad today that I decided to do some digging and saw the other 2 owners that made the same complaints. I just want to find a 100% solution and get it fixed at this point, I love my Denali and will drive it until the wheels falls off, and I'm not out to make GM pay or file a suit. Simply want to know that if I pay someone it will go away.
It has been happening off an on for months, but the other day my wife was driving it and forgot to turn the traction control off and almost got hit by a dump truck. It is definitely a safety concern at this point and I will be the only person able to drive it until it is resolved.
[The issue only occurs when pulling away from a stop, and not when I first start it but within a few stops it will happen.]
