Leaks begins with small amount that results in overheating if uncorrected after a few weeks, then progresses to coolant leaking out while car is or is not running and more than a gallon a day, then finally blowing all the coolant out in only a few miles. Repair cost of around $500 to diagnose and replace manifold gasket.
