1995 Yukon fuel and brake lines were diagnosed as having potential rust. A year prior to this incident the brake lines near the master cylinder rusted to the point of failure. The fuel lines on top of the sending unit also rusted to the point of failure. The brakes locked unexpectedly at low speeds without pressure on the brake pedal. It was determined that the right rear lower brake anchor was shearing off the backing plate, going to one side, consequently allowing the brake shoes to engage without brake pressure. Updated 03/09/06.
Brake lines near the master cylinder rusted to the point of complete brake failure. Luckily, I was in a parking lot when it happened and was able to recover using the emergency brake. I do not drive this vehicle on the beach, nor has it ever been in a flood. Brake lines replaced at high cost.
