On 9/5/16 we noticed a damp smell and the passenger side floor board was wet. The next day we noticed the same smell and wet floor board on passenger side. My wife also noticed a lot of water dripping underneath the glove box. I then took a closer look underneath the glove box and noticed a dripping of water. While driving I had my wife examine the drip of water and she noticed that it pours out a lot when turning left or right. I then searched online if anyone had a similar problem and there was. The problem was body on the front panel where windshield meets the hood board. We recently had 3 days of heavy rain fall. If water collected and there is a body defect then it leaked into our cabin now leaking underneath the passenger side. I hope this helps create a recall because it will cause serious damage to the A/C and Heating system as well as the carpet of the car.

body panel leak into front floor board

Car is only three years old. According to Heritage Buick, GMC dealership in Rockwall, Texas, where I purchased the car and have had all oil changes and maintenance performed, this is just something that "happens."

We started noticing a mildew smell in the car. Thought it was from a spill in the back floor board. After many days of drying out and carpet cleaning to get the smell out of the back floorboard, the odor quickly returned. After further investigation husband discovered it was coming from the front passenger floor board. It was soaking wet. We removed panels and lifted the carpet to dry it out. It was then we discovered the leak was coming from under the dash somewhere. We had several days of rain and there was water coming in on the floor board to the point of soaking towels we had laid down under neath the carpet to help soak up moisture from the carpet padding. So I took the car in to have exact location of the leak identified. I was called the next day and told it was a body panel that was leaking. No explanation of how it could have happened, just that it's something that happens. And of course it's not covered under warranty or extended warranty.

The only way to "fix it" is to remove the windshield so I would have to purchase a new one on top of paying for repair. Very annoyed and disappointed that I have owned several cars and have never had a body panel leak.

This vehicle has not been in any wrecks nor have I run over anything that could have possibly knocked the weld loose. I perceive it as shoddy workmanship when the car was built. Not happy about having to pay the dealership right at $600 to fix it and then get a car back with smelly mildewed carpet and padding that will have to be professionally cleaned at high expense.
