Had diesel sound at start up PROB#1 as well as front engine rattle/knock in front of engine PROB#2 after oil change Aug 15, 2011.Complained about this over a phone call following week. Told if it persists or gets worse bring it in.
Sept 27 brought it in to GM. They replaced Cam Tensioner and Seal. Within the week, not only did i still have PROB #1,2. I now had additional problems, on cold mornings I was getting a rapid ticking that would lessen in a few minutes PROB#3. My anti roll back stopped working along with fluctuating and erratic very low idle, to the point of conk out at quick stops while i watched my RPM bounce from 200 upto 1200 PROB#4. I then started noticing that the steering was jumping/skipping felt like it wasn't there then it would jump back into operation PROB#5.
On October 8th I wrote an email listing all this and with the fact of 2 PROBLEMS to be fixed..... after the GM fix(???) I am now blessed with 5 PROBLEMS. Told by SR that he would order part and call when it came in. Is it ok to drive it with all this knocking, banging, rattling and not working stuff going on. He said yes, it was nothing to worry about.
Received call from dealer on 8th December (60 days later) hoping it was my part and finally get a fix on all this crap. NOPE, it was a request for service on my wifes G5. I inquired as to the status of this part on order for 60 days and was told i had to speak directly to my SR. I did, he does have the part JUST in, and booked me for 5 days later service. I inquired what part it was, he said "insulation for my fuel pump". I told him this will not fix all the other issues.
I went in on the 13 Dec 5 PM. SR told me that the insulation is not being done now it was going to be another service bulletin (PI-0562A Camshaft Actuator Replacement) There is an intake and an exhaust to be replaced, my dealer decided to only do one the Exhaust. Guess what I still have all these problems, as well did not adjust the PCM or TCM codes so now my Idle is revving high my gas milage is 40% worse than before and I have no 5th or 6th gears working on my tranny unless i shift into manual and operate myself. All this after it was tested, and test driven by the shop foreman.
Someone(s) got to go, this can not persist. I'm afraid to take it to them, what else will not be working when i get it back. I have gone online this morning and have found 11 |GM Service Bulletins that pertain to the multiple problems i have. I will take that in with a spreadsheet I've made of what has transpired over the past 3 months....then see what they do. Because as all good Baseball fans know; Three strikes and your out! I will take this much further up the chain of command until (at that point) I am completely satisfied......nothing less.
