Terrain SLE 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 155,345 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

These vehicles are pieces of s***. I have 155,345 miles and my vehicle had a code P2714 come up. The transmission is slipping. Called around and talked to three different shops and they all said the same thing. Transmission needs to be replaced and that the GMC Terrain is well known for transmission problems and that they've seen them go out at 90,000 miles. Cost to replace $3,450. Fuel pump had to be replaced at 90,000 miles and had to have an oil consumption test because it uses oil between changes, and I have my oil changed every 3,000 miles and GMC said they didn't see a problem. I will never own another GMC again.

Terrain SLT 2.4L

  • CVT transmission
  • 102,000 miles

It seemed very convenient for GMC that the car was just out of warranty by a mere 2000 miles when this along with several other major problems occurred, planned obsolescence. Because this this a CVT transmission, the repair cost was substantially higher then other trans. this problem is occurring in other model cars using the same 2.4l motor and trans. these vehicles need to be recalled for this issue.

Terrain LS 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 82,688 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

This issue was happening before I bought it from Woody's in Naperville Il. This Terrain should never been resold. There is no way to know all the issues and problems of this GMC while test driving it. I have been robbed ..They new it but because the timing chain issue was first to show up on my radar in one day after purchase. It was more important to repair engine. Then the transmission started jumping and bucking when you gave in gas to pass. Very dangerous. But as the time went trans started shifting hard from 2nd to 3rd. Also downshift from 2nd to 1st it would bog down and jerking forward from 1st to 2nd grinding after 3rd.

This GMC should be recalled because there are many of us out there having the same issues. It is sad they make this GMC so all the garages prey on unaware buyers who have to shell out dollars upon dollars to repair the issues. That are happening to many many buyers of this poorly designed GMC. They should have dropped this auto and keep Old's or Pontiac even Saturns had less complaints/! GMC I will never buy another one.. BURNED

Terrain

  • Automatic transmission
  • 85,000 miles

Terrain is at 85,000 miles. After replacing the transmission and engine at 50,000 miles. I am replacing the second transmission out of warranty for $3000. I heard a loud pop before pulling into McDonald's and quickly realized that I could not go in reverse. It sounded like I was in neutral. Later on, I found out that Reverse and 3rd gear was messed up. Fed up with this car.

Terrain SLE 4.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 84,489 miles

This was really bad that my transmission went bad with only 84,489 miles. 2011 GMC Terrian. I had a 1990 GMC Jimmy no problems had over 200,000 miles on it our 2001 GMC had over 200,00 miles on it when we traded it in. As we both are retired wasn't expecting this to happen. These transmissions have had complaints on them. I just feel that I should get a re-bate back. These new transmission are maintenance free, that is not true.

My e-mail Lyndaj48@comcast.net Phone number 443-964-4157 I did have the extra warrenty on the GMC. It expired 8/2017 go figure. This transmission went bad on Jan 3, 2018 Lynda Walker 9104 Marcellas Drive Owings, Md. 20736

Out of warranty (time). A transmission does not fail on "time".

I will go out of the way to recommend any vehicle (except GMC or Chevrolet- I know a lot of people).

Too bad for them.

Terrain 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 67,900 miles

vehicle is skipping and on the verge of stalling out

I don't know what's going on with my Terrain. It's going to the dealer tomorrow morning. I'm freaked out. This just started today. Transmission seemed to lag to the point of stalling but didn't. Wouldn't shift into next gear.No idiot lights came on. I checked the oil. No dipstick for the transmission. It's just a cap! My husband opened it and smelled it. Burnt smell. No money no job. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I'm the only one with issue. I hope they cover it. I've received many recalls in the mail. Don't bring your vehicle in. REALLY?

Terrain SLT 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 69,575 miles

I own a 2011 GMC Terrain and it has just started dying on me in the middle of the road. Turn it back on and drive a few miles and it dies again. The code says P0010 GMC - Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Control Circuit. I just had the oil changed 1000 miles ago and change it every 2500 miles. It is not under warranty or extended warranty.

Has anyone else had this problem and what was the fix?

Terrain SLE V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 127,444 miles

I had to replace the transmission, extreme oil consumption, replace water pump, chains and guides, timing chains, camshaft actuators, gasket (2 times),spark plugs, cylinder, fuel induction service, throttle body, catalytic converter,

Transmission went out completely. The car would not reverse while attempting to leave Auto Zone because I needed to put oil in the car between oil changes.
