I really hate the simple fact that when it accelerated perfectly and was driving beautifully, I get to a light and made a complete stop, and then it started to drive real slow and I had pulled over. To restart the vehicle wasn’t a problem and then it began driving again, to only stop again at another light, and the only thing it did was crank up, the revs are still good, to only learn that it will not go forward or reverse.

I literally had to go looking for another vehicle, a car note that I didn’t want at all. That vehicle has issues too, but I’m not going into that with this one. The good part is, it still cranks and the few minor codes were taken cared of except two of them. I don’t want to put random chemicals in the vehicle to help and might end up damaging it further. Towing alone is not price worthy, but finding a good mechanic that knows this vehicle inside and out would help out a whole bunch. When bringing it up, folks be wanting to know if you want to sell it, tells me ya know something I don’t, and no I’m not selling. I would love to get espresso back on the streets, freckles and all.

I have been experiencing the same 3 problems with my GMC Terrain since I bought it almost 3 years ago, but the most concerning problem is the issue with the lag in acceleration when I step on the gas. I feel this issue is a liability for GMC and in light of the recent lawsuits and discoveries with other vehicles in their fleet I am appalled at their nonchalant response to the issue.

The symptoms are straight forward; when I am driving and need to step on the gas to accelerate (especially on the interstate) the vehicle will hesitate and I have almost been plowed into by other vehicles multiple times. I drive a lot for my job and have had many cars over the past 10 years and this vehicle is by far the worst one in terms of feeling safe.

I have taken my vehicle to the dealership numerous times for this issue, and almost always get the response that since they aren't able to duplicate the problem they cannot fix it. A few months ago there was a notice issued to dealerships regarding the computers and timing glitches for the Terrain transmission; they followed the protocol and 'fixed' my vehicle but three months later it is back in the shop with the same problem. I decided to follow up with the GMC warranty department and have discovered that the dealership has not been logging my numerous visits over the last 3 years and therefore the company does not have any long term documentation in their warranty department.

THIS IS A LIFE SAFETY CONCERN AND OBVIOUSLY GMC IS NOT WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THEIR CONSUMERS.

I have been at a full stop then went to step on the gas & the Terrain started to go then slowed right down to almost a complete stop...I lifted my foot off the gas then stepped on it again, it just made it across the intersection...many times I have gone to pass a vehicle stepped on the gas the Terrain actually slowed down then sped up...often when I step on the gas the motor just revs making me think there is something wrong with the transmission..

have been told this is normal for a V6...however, I have had at least 10 vehicles and none of them have ever slowed down when I stepped on the gas. If this is a new way of driving someone should let the buyer know so they wont get into an accident...also the interior lights do not come on sometimes it takes a half hour then they come on then dim down again. I have had the vehicle into the dealer they tell me it is normal not to have power when you step on the gas...lots of people have complained but nothing is done...there is something definitely wrong...I have told them that if I get into an accident they will be to blame.

There is also a rattling in the rear of my Terrain...sounds like something is going to fall out...there have been hoses leaks, they changed a part for the lights but it didn't make any difference there are lots of faulty things with this vehicle and they are not being looked at...I have even told the GMC complaint department to send one of their engineers out here & I will take them for a drive so they can see & feel first hand how safe this vehicle is not...
