This Preliminary Information communication advises the technician to insure that global diagnostic service 2 diagnostic packages are up to date prior to learning the steering angle sensor for a diagnostic trouble code C710 symptom code 71 set in the electronic brake control module or the power steering control module. When rechecking for diagnostic trouble codes a U0074 U0077, U0180D, U01293, U0126, U0125, C0186, C0196, or C0287 are set and will not clear diagnose the Chassis bus. If no fault is found in the chassis bus check for an multiple diagnostic interface to data link connector issue. Technician is to try a different multiple diagnostic interface cable and attempt the steering angle sensor learn again following service information instruction then try to clear the codes again.
