The contact owns a 2010 GMC Terrain. While driving approximately 30 mph the contact heard a clapping noise coming from the engine. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the air conditioner compressor was replaced. The contact continued to hear the noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealer a second time where there were other repairs made. The contact was not sure of what repairs were made. The noise continued after the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the noise was constant when the vehicle was driven. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the technicians could not diagnose the failure and offered no further assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000. Updated 02/11/11 the check engine valve and catalytic converter assembly were replaced. Updated 04/21/11
