I was in the middle of a normally long commute when I stopped at a gas station to pick up a drink before the 45 minute drive home. Drove down the road towards the interstate on ramp when the car claimed it was overheating. Turned around and hoped I would make it back to the gas station before anything catastrophic happened. Made it there and called a mechanic I knew. He said to check the coolant level. Coolant level was a little low, so I topped it off from buying some at said gas station. Started it up, all was well. Started driving. Got up to 45mph and the temp shot straight up again with all sorts of dings and lights going off. Turned back around and sat at the gas station again. Sat there for about an hour to give it time to cool down. Tool off again, slower this time, made it on to the highway and right at 60mph it lit up like a Christmas tree. Called my insurance and they towed it to the closest shop. Took 4 hours to find out that it wasn't an air pump issue and he towed me for free down to the local dealership to him. Got a rental for the week aND found out that I apparently had a cracked radiator, a bad water pump, and the timing chain tensioner was bad. $1400 and five days later she was running fine again. Conveniently, since it's a 2010 the warranty ran out at the end of last year so none if thus was covered and completely out of pocket. Thank god I still had tax money I was trying to save. This concludes my out of order complaints on the vehicle... For now anyway. My recommendation? Don't EVER buy one. Holy crap, I can't stress this enough. I may have gotten the bad apple but according to this site, that's not entirely the case. Fortunately, there's apparently a demand on these cars since my value hasn't dropped much at all. If I didn't have so much damn Naga tube equity from a previous car I would've traded it in already.
