remote doorlock fails to unlock or lock doors This problem first occured in the first year I had the car. The GM tech kept the car for tow days while waiting for a new switch. Two months later: same problem (doors do not unlock with the remote key and bell rings when I open the door to get out). Next repair: the GM tech said it only added graphite on the ignition key path. Worked fine for about 18 months. 3rd and 4th repair: same solution, with no problem for about a year or so. 5th repair: june 3, 2015: same repair; lasted un to November 8th (today). All the previous repairs were made at no cost (warranty). My extended waranty exprired 2 months ago. I will try to have it fixed without charge, because the last repair was done only 5 months ago.
Note: sometimes, "shaking" the key into tje sitch corrects the problem. I suspect that th GM tech don't know what tje problem really is. Any idea, anyone?
Update from Dec 9, 2015: I have found a solution that works to solve that recurring problem. It happened again at about 81000 km and once more about a month later. Here is the solution: I inserted my key into igntion switch and, after shaking it a little bit, up and down, I pushed the key (and switch) further in, repeteadly a few times. Right away, the door chime stopped ringing (with the door open) and I could use my remote control to lock and unlock the doors. I am French and my Engklish is not very good. I could write it in French and you can ask someone to translate it. I am sure that this solution works; it costs nothing and can be done by any one.
