About These NHTSA Complaints:
This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Have owned '90gmc C1500 P/U & '99 GMC C1500 Suburban in past 12 years; both vehicles have had same problems w/ front brake pull/wear; suspension; brake pipes; engine/trans. Hesitation, hang....; corroded + battery cables, batteries; leaking HVAC ducts; and on & on. How in the world does 12+/- years of documented brake problems across vehicle lines/models not warrant a massive recall and/or compensation to owners for obviously faulty engineering, materials, etc....."???!!!! I suppose the Ford/Firestone problems took precedence? can you say "class action"?"

GMC can not solve the problem. Vehicle has been returned 14 times under warranty and service bulletins can not fix the problem. Vehicle pulls violently to the left. At high sppeds( 62-68 mph) the vehicle has a tendency to jump to the left over the center line into on-coming traffic.
I lost track of brake failures. The tires wear excessively and need balancing and rotation. There is a vibration from the gas pedal, but nothing is found. The better business bureau resulted in an unsatisfactory offer - I have to pay to clear the title to have the car taken back. No other '99 is like ours to replace it.
Car continually pulls to the left. I've had it aligned 3 times by the dealership and they claim the car shows wheels are aligned. The last time they aligned the car, they took the front wheel assembly off to adjust the camber, stating that to adjust toe-in anymore would bring the vehicle out of factory specs. I contacted "the car doctor" a radio show master technician (ron armenian) from wor radio in N.Y. and he said that my problem was most likley due to a steering box malfunction since I have speed sensitve electronic steering. He said the car probably is aligned but the computer is making incorrect readings and thus causing the car to pull. He said to contact you because he has heard of this problem before and felt there is an actual defect and that GMC could even recall the car.
