I purchased a 2013 GMC SIERRA 3500 IN August of 2020. It had 63 k miles on it . The truck drove fine for couple of months, then I brought it in for inspection. I ended up putting in new steering box and radiator transmission cooling line. I continued to drive it.
On one trip to Virginia and back, I started to notice constant vibration up front... Then a whining noise started coming from the front accompanied with a hesitation and shifting grabbing hesitation on and off... Now at 64,053 miles I have no drive, reverse or forward. This is the 6L90 transmission I believe. And talking with the transmission people, apparently they do two or three of these a week and they're getting rich off these.
I'm hoping that more people will complain and a class action lawsuit is brought towards GMC in these matters. I think it's pathetic that at 64,000 miles the transmission goes in a heavy duty work truck. The transmission people told me it's going to be $5,000 to replace it.... It's sitting outside my place completely dead. I've had junk companies offered me $2,400 for it but I refuse to let it go for that given the low mileage that it has.
Please respond and reply to my story - I know there's others out there that have gone through the same problems, and the only way we're going to get a lawsuit going is if everyone gets together and shares their experience..
