Allison 1000 Series OEM Transmission on 2010 GMC Sierra 3500 SLT DRW experienced complete failure at 83,002 miles . Truck has not been used for heavy hauling or excessive towing. Truck did not exhibit any symptoms, no slipping, hesitation, clunking in transmission. Vehicle was driven on short trip and stopped for 30 minutes in parking lot. Went to leave and when shifter selected to reverse , no backup camera and no transmission engagement . Reset to park and back , still no help. And no movement, also shift indicator line under PRNDL disappeared . And received shift inhibited, select N to reset , attempted to no avail. Truck flatbed towed to dealer and diagnosis made to replace transmission due to total failure , TCM was checked and was ok per technician. , metal found in pan
