I purchased my vehicle in the fourth quarter of 2014. Sometime around February 2015, I began noticing when making a right handed turn at slow speeds, my steering wheel would lock up and/or loose power steering. The first time I almost wrecked my truck into another vehicle. After a few seconds, I turned my steering wheel slightly to the left and I was able to regain steering capabilities. Since that time, this has occurred approximately 5 or 6 times. Every time I take my truck into the dealership to have it looked at, they were unable to duplicate the problem and was unable to fix it.
Recently, the steering problem has been happening more often. I took my truck into the dealership and they found that my power steering cooler was leaking. They advised me that the extended warranty would not cover this part and advised me that the bill would be approximately $1,100 to fix. After arguing with my dealership and showing them the number of times I have brought this problem to their attention, an agreement was made and all I paid for was the part, the dealership paid for the labor. This is a very serious problem that needs to be investigated. There is a problem with the steering in these GMC trucks and eventually this problem will end up killing someone. I still have not found out from any source what this problem is and how to fix it. Someone please advise...
