I have a 2009 GMC Sierra 2500hd 4X4 automatic diesel lmm. While towing my travel trailer on the freeway at 65mph the dashboard displayed the message "engine power reduced" all of a sudden. While this was being displayed the vehicle slowed rapidly to 35mph and the vehicles behind me were scrambling to move over. I limped the vehicle to the nearest exit and connected my obdii reader and it displayed the code of P0087 low fuel rail pressure. I limped the vehicle to the nearest auto parts store and changed the fuel filter as a precaution. I was able to limp the vehicle home the rest of the way without any further issues but the remainder of my commute was down hill - luckily. I would like to know if there is any further information on this and what the manufacturer is going to do if at all.
