I brought the truck in for a simple AC evacuate and recharge and they came back and told me the pump was blown and it would cost me at least $2000 to install a new compressor, orifice tube and some inline filter and of course refill the system. Now I looked up all the parts except the inline filter which can't be that bad and came up with just under $400. Now I've changed an AC compressor about 10 years ago and this one doesn't look too much harder, maybe from beginning to end it would take 3 hours. I don't know if the dealer was just taking advantage of me because I'm a paraplegic or what but I'll be damned if I buy another one of their vehicles. I seems you can't find honest GM service departments anymore.
