In January of 2012, my engine light had come on so I brought it in to the nearest GM dealership for a diagnosis. They had my truck in & out of the shop until August that same year. It had something to do with the transmission. The dealership claimed to have replaced the auxiliary trans fluid pump, but the engine light went right back on after the warranty expired. I then took it to another mechanic & they said that the auxiliary trans fluid pump had never been replaced. That service call ended up costing me almost $2K.
Fast forward to now, I am so angry at not being notifying by GM that the so called "stator" part that just failed was discontinued and could pose an issue down the road. I love this truck and want to get it fixed. It has lots of life still left, but now can't find the part to fix it. My mechanic searched nationwide and also sent it to a GM dealership. No hope was basically the verdict. I went to another GM dealership about a month ago and have not been contacted by them as yet, with any promising news either.
I've been a loyal GM customer all of my life and to end up with a vehicle that was worth close to 10K be dead is outright disappointing & disturbing.
I heard there was a Class Action lawsuit against GM for this, but haven't been able to find any information.
If anyone has any information on finding the part or the lawsuit, would appreciate any assistance.
