Rear sliding window has a leak. While washing the vehicle or if it rains, water penetrates threw the window and into the inside headliner causing water stains and mold. Water also runs down the inside of the back window to the floor carpet, also creates water stains and mold. General Motors has a Bulletin 18-NA-383, Which does not fix the problem, but only puts a temporary patch. The permanent fix would be to replace the whole window.
GMC of Vacaville California sold me a 2019 GMC Sierra that has a know back window leak issues. I was told by service worker GMC of Vacaville California sold me a 2019 GMC Sierra that has a know back window leak issues. I was told by service worker Brent Lewis/405 that is a common issue and GMC is aware of this issue that the vehicle was brought in before for this same issue prior from [XXX] but was not taken care of. I purchased this vehicle on [XXX] along with a 5k extend warranty that I was told is a bumper to bumper warranty. Come to find out it does not cover a manufacturer defected back window installation. My concern is that they are aware of these issues and water sitting on the inside of the cab due to a leak causes black mold and could cause serious illness to myself and my children. Unknown. My truck has only about 46,000 miles. We experience heavy rains on the week of 4/8/2024 and I went to go load groceries in the back and saw water coming down the back window. I went straight to the dealer and spoke with Tom a manager at GMC. He took me to service and a mechanic came out and said this a common and expensive job. He said I may need anew window replacement. I left and did research on this problem. There seems to be EVERYONE who has a GMC or Chevy has this problem. Many people are experiencing rust, mold, etc. This is a MAJOR issue. All you hear about mold health isssues. NOT any issue that should be over look. Whenthere is water there IS mold. This issue probably has been going on longer but due to heavy rain and me going in the back I saw water. This is something that dealers need to fix.
Purchased a brand new from dealer 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 in July 2019. I noticed not long after that time that the back window leaked once in a while when it rained. I live in Phoenix Arizona, so rain is a rare occurance and it is in the back seat area of the truck where I do not sit back there or look back there very often checking for leaks. I mentioned it to the service advisor when I was trying to get a very long running issue with the tire pressure monitors that they would not properly fix. It took nearly 2 years for them to correct that issue, and by the time they fixed that issue, truck was out of warranty and they said they had no record of this problem and they could not fix. I am worried about the water causing mold or rust up under the head liner that would cause me and my family medical issues. Water, metal amd fabric head liners do not mix and there is a water stain on the roof liner that grows every time it rains. This is a medical issue and nobody should have to wonder what is growing above their head inside their vehicle while going to work. I see many online reports of a cracked window frame on these model year trucks, so it seems to be a widespread problem with either their vendor for these windows or the installation process at the factory.

The frame of the rear window cracked which allowed water to enter the cab. Water made its way onto the rear anchor strap of a car seat and saturated it which could have caused it to possibly not perform properly, which could have injured a child. Since the rear window can be opened electrically it is possible that a short could occur due to the water intrusion. GM has a service bulletin out about resealing the window but will not cover the repair or replacement of the window if it is outside the 36,000 mile warranty period. Obviously this is a manufacturer defect that has numerous occurrences or there would not be a bulletin created for it.
There is a water leak coming into the back cab of my 2019 GMC Sierra. My truck smells horrible the dealership can't find the leak. It smells very moldy and very concern for my children riding in the back breathing the unsafe air.
The rear window is leaking severely. It seem to be an ongoing issue with these trucks at the rear brake light spoiler. It-??s a substantial amount of water and there is water damage and mold.
When shifting to Park the vehicle shuts down but message comes up to Shift to Park and electronics stay on. Vehicle is off but unable to exit vehicle and lock it since the Shift to Park messages keeps dinging.
2019 Sierra 1500 slt Defective front camera surround only 51,000 miles. Forward collision warning not work, lane departure warning not work, intellibeam head lights not work. Replace camera with labor at the dealer cost me $860 dolls.
Rear view camera starting working intermittently. Took vehicle to dealer to repair. Dealer updated software and the problem persisted the same day. Random screen for just the backup camera will be either blacked out or blue stating to service rear camera system. Have taken my vehicle back to the same dealer three separate occasions to resolve this issue to no avail. Now that my warranty is expired they have a fix that will cost me out of pocket. They are offering cost assistance but the problem was never resolved in the first place.
The volume controls on the steering wheel keep getting stuck going up causing the volume to go all the way up and won't let you turn it down. This has caused me not to be able to play music because when I do it hurts my ears causing me to swerve.
Back up camera gets fuzzy and has lines going through the screen when I hit the brakes. This is a safety issue as my nephew ran behind my truck and I could not see him.
A blue screen with the "service rear vision system" appeared intermittently when I put my truck in reverse. At first it would go away once the truck had restarted. I had the dealer service department check it out but they said they couldn't replicate it. The camera system is not always in a blue screen regardless if I select camera options from the infotainment menu or if when putting the truck in reverse. The dealer is currently having issues with GM providing the right "calibration" to fix this issue. When the camera was working, a strange issue occurred in addition to blue screens. The right side camera turned off and removed visibility from that side of the vehicle through the infotainment screen. I feel this is a huge safety issue since my visibility is severely hindered when reversing in dark or dense conditions.
I received notice that there are two recalls out for my truck: A brake system recall and a forward camera/collision recall. Had both recalls performed and immediately the forward camera collision alert, lane keep and intellibeam systems didn't work. Delaer informed me there is a problem with the update and I need a new camera. That is on order and pending. More importantly, about 2 days after the updates the truck showed alerts about the brakes, traction control and stabilitrack systems. Upon driving the truck the power/vacuum assist system failed and the brake pedal nearly went to the floor before engaging brakes; I could barely stop. Returned the truck to the dealer and was told its a common issue with the brake recall update (the truck had no such symptoms before the update). If you check out various GM vehicle owner forums you will see scores of Silverado and Sierra owners with the same two issues post-update: No collision camera and sudden loss of brakes. There is a problem - a very dangerous problem - with these updates.
