My truck started having a strong fuel smell by drivers door. 7/11/23 I took to the GM dealer to address strong fuel smell. The dealer at Patriot GMC said they would have to drop the tank and do smoke test to locate leak. They reported no leaks found that it looked like possible fuel on top of tank from over filling and spill. I explained I didn't overfill tank or spill any gas. Picked up truck after being told no fault found. I had to pay $539.91 to drop gas tank for testing and to check fuel pump.7/17/23 [7/11-7-17] I explained no trouble with starting or stalling with fuel pump and I just had gas smell really strong. Engine light came on when I left shop so I called dealer and explained my truck was running fine and now engine light on. I brought it back to shop after a week of testing and put back in shop on 7/17/23 They took the code and it came back as EVAP system issue. Code P0449 They said my EVAP Vent Solenoid valve circuit was open. Circuit tested terminal 1 pin loose. Terminal in connector replaced. Vent valve tested. The mechanic stated now running as designed. Multi point inspection completed. Picked up vehicle and stopped at store because I could smell gas real strong inside my cab and under hood. I contacted dealer for third time about gas smell and this time I asked for shop manager to come to vehicle so I could make sure he could smell how strong the gas smell was and now it was coming from front hood area into ac vents and into cab and it was making me nauseous and scared of fire issue. He said he would get it fixed. Received call yesterday stating that they found a small crack in fuel pump and my truck was ready for pick up. This is the same recall notice I have read about on major recall of GMC vehicles due to crack in fuel pump. My truck is a 2016-2017 but I don't see it on the recall list or have I been notified of the issue. #N192283991 Safety issue Pressure regulator cracks fuel pump. 19V837000

The AC condenser failed and AC will no longer work. This puts my family at risk during the hot summer days and can no longer use it to transport them due to extreme temperatures while not constantly in motion. Problem was confirmed by mechanic when I brought the truck in regarding AC no longer working. This is a known issue and I am requesting GM to finally release an official recall.

Similar to the Canadian recall that effected those models, the rear defrost on the power sliding window malfunctioned, produced a weird smell like fire and promptly exploded, shattering the window. Vehicle is being used normally with no aftermarket products.

while driving a hissing sound was heard from rear window, smoke appeared and rear window shattered. Dealer states that there was a short in the electrical system consistent with recall # N192220470 and that my vehicle does have RPO A48. My vehicle was not included in this recall due to geographical location of vehicle (Pennsylvania). This is a known potential fire risk and glass shattered into the vehicle. It should be noted that the outside temp was 60 degrees and my husband did NOT turn on defroster or open the rear window. After the smoke clear and window shattered he noticed that the defroster light was on and he shut it off manually. Had there been rear seat passengers they would have had glass on them and subjected to smoke and possible fire. God forbid a child in a rear facing child safety seat was back there, they would have been at serious risk of harm. GM has been notified and at this time is refusing to include this vehicle in their limited scope recall. I know of several others with similar stories (avail upon request), one lives in South Carolina, proving that this recall should not be limited to northern tier states. The current recall must be expanded to all 50 states asap. Lives and property are at risk.

I used my remote start to start my 2016 GMC Sierra to warm it up while cleaning the snow off my other windows. I smelled smoke and noticed my drivers side back window completely shatter before my eyes. Upon further investigation I see many ppl that have reported similar incidents occurring in GMC vehicles years 14-18 some even with shards shooting into their vehicles. This is completely ridiculous, and extremely unsafe and could seriously injure someone. The vehicle was stationary and started by remote start

Antenna has cracked seal and moisture got in and shorted out navigation & on star. Bulletin for problem with same year, make & model but not VIN. Refuse to fix. Claim its not a safety issue. Not a great statement to make to a first responder who has saved lives by someone using on star. No more GM's for this family and we have 3 currently and was looking to replace one next month. Not a Ford person so looks like a Ram in our future. Not a safety issue.... really GM !!!!!!!!

My truck was parked at a business. I started the truck after being inside for about 10 minutes and started to smell an electrical burn/shortening. I turned the truck off, told my wife to get out and I popped the hood. By the time she walked to the back and me to the front, the rear window behind the driver shattered, sending glass inside and outside the vehicle. After opening the doors for a few minutes, the smell was gone, since I work with electronics for work, is normal for the smell. I think it was defroster and/or the sliding rear window wiring. This happened on 12/03/2019. I had escalated this up General Motors customer relations and after level 2 was told it was not their issue, even after I referenced the Canadian recall for this very issue. The truck, per my service writer todd, has since been recalled but I cannot find anything anywhere. My truck is still at the dealer, woody Buick GMC, naperville, il and has not been repaired. That's also why I can't send a photo.

Here is what happened regarding the rear sliding-window shattering (and nearly a fire) in my 2016 Sierra: On January 1st, 2020, I was driving straight at approximately 30 mph on a smooth, level city street (no potholes or road defects, etc.) in 25-degree weather with my rear-window defroster on when I smelled something burning and looked in mirror and saw smoke and a few seconds later the driver's side glass-panel of my sliding rear-window shattered. There was no ice on window at the time and I had been driving approximately 7 minutes. I know that GM has acknowledged this problem and issued a recall #N192220470 on Canadian vehicles, and that there is a major fire hazard. I spoke with anderson Chevrolet and grossinger GMC this morning (January 2nd) and was basically dismissed and told to call GM about it, they won't help me.
