Worst headlights I have ever had. my 2000 jetta with hazy lenses give off better light. and high beam is useless unless your looking for birds or planes cause they point up 40 feet or so, had the new bulbs and bcm flash and did add a little light but not much . Can't see street signs with low beam and high is to high.

I have driven many different vehicles in my lifetime and, besides my 1966 Mustang, these are the worst headlights I have ever experienced. A very short cutoff and worst of all, no side illumination. I'm almost afraid to drive the damn thing at night and God help you if it is night and raining.

headlights are too dim, can't see down the road properly. I find that these headlights are so bad that they are actually dangerous. I don't feel comfortable driving at night. They don't seem to cast down the road enough to see if there was anything in the road. i.e. Deer, moose, people.

Also they are very dim, and don't cast to the left at all. I called GMC service and was told they knew about the problem but there is no fix in the works for it.

Worst headlights ever!!!!!!!! Can't see 10 feet in front of you have to drive with high beams and fog lights and still can't see very well at night scared to drive at night in fear of wrecking because of the fact I can't see with these terrible headlights on low beam there is a sudden drop off point at about 10 feet of nothing but total darkness like you painted a black wall in front of you accident waiting to happen or worse! It's sad when a 2015 Honda has much brighter headlights on low beam than my 2015 GMC Sierra 4X4 with under 7000 miles on it. This problem didn't just happen I noticed it the next day that night after we bought it brand new with 0 miles on it and reported it to the Dealership in Wilmington NC and to Corporate in Detroit MI. They don't care only thing I ask is for them to resolve this issue and the other issues i'm having with this over priced Truck! Also they did replace the headlight bulb and it's just as bad as the original one the designers of these headlights on the 2014/2015 GMC's need to come up with a better way to resolve this serious issue this isn't a joke not being able to see at night not only am I putting myself at risk but I'm also putting other's at risk! And the only way I feel to resolve this very serious issue is for everyone to file a complaint with Corporate in Detroit MI. because replacing the bulb doesn't work trust me I had mine replaced! So if you have this problem PLEASE report it to corporate in Detroit only way to resolve this issue is to file complaints not to the dealership file them with Corporate please let's stand together on this. Thank you have a Blessed Day/night.

My 2015 GMC Sierra has the worst headlights, you'd be lucky if it beams 30 feet in front of you and they are dim. Looking for advice, I already called GMC customer Service but 42 days later 1 call back to say they are still working on it!!

Very Frustrated!!!!!!!!

I absolutely love this truck but the headlights are horrible for driving on the highway and country roads. They work great shinning straight forward but they do not light the sides of the road which is extremely nerve racking driving in deer and moose country.

I bought my 2015 GMC Sierra SLE Crew Cab 4x4 new. I regret not having test driven it at night. The headlights in the truck are a complete disaster. I took my family on a trip to Wisconsin and had to drive home at night. I was petrified the whole way as I could barely see where I was going! I took the truck back and they did a "headlight upgrade" that consisted of different bulbs and a change to the vehicles computer. This helped slightly, but not nearly enough. Now, one of these bulbs has already out! I have an appointment with the dealership on Friday. Until then, I am down to one really crappy headlight. This is a very real safety concern.

Sierra 1500 SLT

The headlights with which this vehicle are equipped are suficiently dim as to be insufficient and potentially dangerous under certain circumstances. The level of illumination is so low that one is unlikely to see an obstacle/hazard on unlit roadways at night. One would not even want to THINK about driving 65-70MPH in an interstate highway at night -- one will certainly "overdrive" one's headlights.

I complained to a dealer and was told there si a service bulletin that covers this but they'd have to order parts. I was promised they would do so -- after three weeks I have not heard from them! (Sad representative of General Motors.)

Note: I also filed a complaint with the NHTSA regarding this at https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/ . Others may wish to do the same. I believe this is an under-recognized and under-reported problem.

I have a new 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. I have finally had occasion to drive it extensively at night. The low beams only project 40 or 50 feet down the road. The high beams are very poor. There is no side lighting at all. I am taking this back to the dealer under warranty to replace.

Update from Mar 9, 2016: I did some research and found that there is a service bulletin from GMC on this. 5374. I called the Dealership and told them about the problem and mentioned the service bulletin. They said yes, they are aware of this and told me to bring the vehicle in ant they would take care of it. They said that they need to order the parts. I will see what happens. Very concerning since I had to call them and ask about the service bulletin and note the problem. I would have thought that they would have just taken care of it when I was there for another Warranty service? They have clearly taken an attitude " if they don't ask, don't tell".

Update from Aug 23, 2016: I took my 2015 Sierra to the Dealer and complained. They replaced the bulbs and apparently increased the wattage. The low beam is still short and has an abrupt line where the light pattern stops. It is very short. The high beams are just not that bright. In addition, when making a right or left turn, there is no visibility to the right or left when turning.

I have a new 2015 sierra. My dealership has been very helpful with reference to the poor headlights on my truck. They have completed the voluntary upgrade, however I feel the lights are still a poor quality.. in particular the "BLACK LATERAL LINE". I"m a retired police officer with a lot of years experience on Highway Patrol and I believe this lateral line is a serious cause for concern.

Driving on a flat surface is ok but driving up and down steep inclines and in rural areas where wildlife abound is a accident waiting to happen. A single projector headlight should never have been placed in any vehicle as the "shutter" causes this "black line" .. I have learned that other owners of vehicles with these poor lights simply adjust the beam upwards in an attempt to make the "black line" disappear, but then when the high beam is activated there is very little difference between the two beams..

I would like to upgrade the total new head light assembly at my own cost, but that would void my warranty? At present I do not enjoy driving my new truck at night and when I do so I end up feeling very tired and stressed. I would hope General Motors will fix this problem and soon.

Have encountered night visibility problems since the first day I bought this truck. If you can imagine looking through a shoe box and trying to drive, you get the picture. The lights don't light the side of the road nor street signs and did only go out about 50-60 feet but I had a garage install a 1 1/2 " shackle lowering kit to the rear springs to set the tail down a bit and it moved the forward light cutoff bar out about another 20 ft. The truck looks good lowered a bit in the rear and could have even stood the 2" lowering kit if to level out the slight rake and move the cutoff out a bit more. The dealer increased the voltage and changed the lamps but they are still only equal to the old six volt lights on my old 1950's GMC's. GMC knows they have a problem and it looks like they will only act when the government goes after them as they did in the locking steering wheel deaths.

I travel to work at 5:00am. There are joggers/HUMANS running along the side of the rural roads that have no street lights, that I must drive to reach my place of employment. (Only GOD and them know why they choose to run/jog on those roads at that time 5:00am.) We pay thousands of dollars in taxes to build running tracks at the local recreational parks and at the local schools. Yet they still insist on jogging/running along those unlighted roads.

I like my new truck, BUT I've had five close calls where I could NOT SEE those HUMANS because of the shading effect of the projector type headlights while on LOW Beam. Only GOD and luck saved their lives!! As I Could NOT SEE THEM till my reaction time was down to milliseconds!!! In all cases I was driving below the posted speed limits for those roads. I was fully awake and not under any medical attention of any kind. The fault I attribute DIRECTLY to the shading effect of the projector type headlights installed on the 2015 Sierra 1500 4WD REG CAB Vehicle.

As I stated above I like the vehicle, Yet I FEAR that the projector type headlights factory installed will cause me to wind up in a COURT of LAW facing negligent vehicular manslaughter charges.

the headlights are NOT bright enough to be safe even on bright. I drive with the fog lights 100% of the time at night as I live in rural Missouri and I must always be on the lookout for deer and other wildlife. Nearly impossible to see with either brights or fog lights. Have never owned a vehicle that the lights were this dim.

Headlights are meant to allow the driver to see the road, these headlights have to be the worst I have ever encountered, No adjustment left or right , no separate adjustment for high or low beam. There will be an accident caused by these, of that I am sure I have reported this to GM and DOT, but nothing has been done or acknowledged. I also requested that a GM engineer visit and come with me for a night drive in the mountains, also suggested he/she bring a change of clothes!
