I've been a GM vehicle owner since 1980, but I am completely turned off GM products. Especially, the truck line. From oil pump failures, transmission failures, collapsed lifters due to the AFM-DOD system, rusted frames, etc., the GM trucks are a ticking time boom. What is going to fail first?
I baby my vehicles, with regular maintenance and oil changes, at half of what the oil life monitor says. And then I have this major problem, with the failed oil pump. Its going to cost me over $14,000.00 CAD, for new engine, parts and labour, to fix this. This is a 2015 GMC Sierra with low mileage, (I help farm so the truck isn't used much from April to Oct., and have a '93 GMC that I use during that time period). So, it's off factory warranty, and I'm stuck with this massive bill, and I don't have that kind of money, that I can just throw at it. And to top it off, the dealership says, it can be anywhere from 4 to 12 months for the delivery of a new replacement engine.
Thanks a lot GM for the crap that you are putting and dealership lots. I'm no longer a GM customer. There needs to be a class action lawsuit, over this issue. I have searched the internet, and I'm finding I am not the only one with this issue. Oil pump failures at low mileage
