When making slight left turns, the truck would flash stabilitrak on the display and the steering wheel would automatically pull out of my hands and make the wheels straighten up. The radio would then go dead and then 5 to 10 seconds later the entire truck would turn off. This happened while driving down the road. This happened on 2 separate occasions with no other warnings. I contacted GMC and they have not given me any type of answer or assistance.

Roof antenna leaking after 2.5 years the roof mount antenna for xm radio started leaking into headliner causes radio to get intermittent signal. Leak travels down driver side pillar into dash board which will cause electrical shorting and failure. This problem is due to a faulty design of the antenna. There are thousands of complaints online regarding this problem. Dealer refused to replace at there expense. Contacted GM who also refused to replace it. This was a $60,000 truck less than 3yrs old. It got my attention because I use xm radio and lost reception. There must be many more with this problem who don't even know it because they don't use xm radio. This is a serious problem having a leak traveling down into dashboard what else is affected air bags, lights, brakes etc. The design of this is awful GMC is extremely negligent not recalling on this problem

Truck has 3 problems that can put my family's life in danger. 1- sometimes out of nowhere at low speeds when you turn the steering wheel to make a left or right turn the 'stabilitrac' light flashes in the screen and locks and won't let you turn the steering wheel.at this point you have no control of the steering wheel, it locks and bounces back at you and if you keep trying to turn it, the engine cuts off all power and it stalls, just dies. I almost got read ended a couple of times already due to this problem. Just this morning I was making a right onto a local mcdonald's and the steering wheel locked and the engine died on me. I had to quickly turn it on again and keep going.another time it happen as I was merging into traffic. Very scary! problem number two, I think its just a matter of time before the steering wheel locks on me on high speeds. Sometimes when I'm on the freeway, the same chimes come on when I step on the brakes, the center screens goes black, and the same 'stabilitrac' warning comes on the smaller screen behind the steering wheel. I'm afraid to take it on a winding road for fear that the steering wheel will lock on me cause an accident. 3- service brake controller sign and chimes come on ant won't go away. It jus keeps on popping on and on and on and they go away when you turn off the truck, and come on again months or weeks later. I did have it checked at my local dealership.they tested it, sold me new ground and hot wires. It was good for about 4 weeks before the same problems came back again. I did some research on some of the forums and you tube videos and by far I'm the only one with the same problem. Very afraid to cause an accident.

Vehicle had a fire starting in the dashboard area behind instrument cluster I think. It took less than 15 minutes from the smell of and issue to flames visible. I noticed the gauges becoming erratic than the check engine light came on with what felt like the 4 wheel drive kicking in and out followed by the motor running poorly. I pulled over, turned the vehicle off as the smoke started. Than dialed 911.. trooper was there in 6 minutes with fire department shortly after. I was on a highway traveling about 70 mph. There were quite a few potholes as this was winter time. Lights were on, cruise was on, heated seats and steering wheel were on, radio was on, phone and laptop were charging ( laptop utilizing 110 outlet in truck).

Headlight on the 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 slt are terrible. They are the worst of any vehicle I've driven. The problem stems from the poorly designed reflector for the halogen bulb.

My vehicle is equipped with a driver alert system which notify the driver if the vehicle strays out of its lane or if it approached stopped traffic. This system alerts the driver by either playing an audible tone or by vibrating the seat. The vibration motors in the seat of my vehicle have broken three times due to a pinched wire due to GM's poor design. When the motor breaks, a error is displayed saying to service the driver alert system. This occurred when the vehicle was parked and when it was moving.

March 2017, at 10,881 miles I accelerated to pass a car, lost power, like it suddenly went into neutral. I tried several gears, multiple times, before being able to finally get the manual gear to get me home.local dealership cleaned up the transmission of broken metal parts. 2,500 miles later, I tried to accelerate after turning into a long driveway, again no power. I tried several gears as before and the manual gear got me to the house.the engine was working and rpms revved, and just like before, felt like it was in neutral. Dealership went above and beyond to try to duplicate the problem. They even checked my truck for the GM recall #14192, NHTSA campaign id # 14V374000, because it was having the same issues. I think that the broken parts found the first time was an incidental finding due to the fact that the problem has happened twice. During all this there has been small electrical issues ie: Weak sounding buzzers when I open the door, internal lights either staying on or not coming on at all, and intermittent issues with remote start. My husband bought this truck brand new in March 2016, 6 weeks before he died, so this truck has a lot of sentiment, however, I am very concerned that this truck is unsafe. The fear of being T-boned in an intersection, or suddenly losing power in 70mph traffic is terrifying! I am moving from SC to Wyoming in 6 weeks and am scared to death I am going to have problems. I have reported this to the GM complaint dept. Service case # 83120854028. The only paperwork I have are the service records from the local GM dealership.

As well as having very poor visability, the haedlight bulbs on my truck have blown out 5 times in only two years. There is obviuosly something wrong with something besides the bulbs.I am going broke replacing them. I called the dealer and was told that it would cost me $115 an hour just to look at the truck. I would rather give the truck back, than pay to have a problam that is obviously a manufacturing defect, fixed. The lights have went out both while moving, and stationary.

I was riding on the freeway and someone flagged me down and said you car is on fire. The fire was between the cab and the bed of the truck on 3/22/2017. On 4/11/2017 is began to smell of smoke whenever I crank. The smell is coming through the vents. Also the vehicle will not pass inspection because of the emissions for the past 4 months. I am paying a note on this vehicle monthly and am not able to use it. I can't get it inspected and the registration is out therefore I cannot drive it.

Has had an issue with accessories flashing off and back on. Reported it to a GMC dealer and they were unable to duplicate but said that the battery was bad and most likely what was causing it. It did fine for a while then began doing it again. This time however it caused a loss in power steering and I ended up in the ditch. Later it did it in a parking lot and was able to video tape it. Took it to the dealer and showed them the video. They were unable to duplicate for 4 days while I was paying for a rental because mine wasn't safe to drive. On the fourth day I provided them with a service bulletin I found that addressed the issue as being a fluctuation in power and for them to check the cables and do a drop load test. They did and it failed. I then had to pay $376 to replace them plus having to pay for a rental after asking for a loaner. This is a problem a lot of people are having. Just a quick google search makes that plain. GM isn't wanting to admit it. I have the video but I don't think it will allow me to upload it to the form.

I purchased my first new vehicle in Oct of 2015. I've owned 4 vehicles since I've had my license, 2 Dodge and 2 bmws. I chose a truck I've dreamed of having since I was 16. I'm currently 28. I chose the Sierra denali. Not only was this my first new vehicle but this was my first truck and my first GM product of my life. Now I'm teetering on it being my last. Through the 14 months I've owned the vehicle (since 4 miles) I've had numerous issues. My front differential has been rebuilt not once but twice. My truck has 45K on it. It has never towed hauled or other wise performed a task requiring it's power other than normal driving. It has been babied. Cleaned washed oil changed tires rotated and 93 octane fill ups. Amongst other issues were the infotainment center freezing. Cvs axle shafts performing erratic along with bucking slamming and noises through the power train. A random leak in the lower oil pan that the dealer said was a manufacturer defect they were aware of. A airbag software safety recall and a shifting driver seat that tends to move a bit during cornering. Now to top all of those issues off in those 14 months I now have a leak the extends out from the edge about 5 inches from the rear windshield all the way from the driver side to passenger side. I'm not in bumper to bumper warranty. I was told 100 dollars and it will be fixed. It shouldn't have to be fixed. None of it should have. I have had less issues in all 4 of my last vehicles put together than this 1 vehicle I have owned for 14 months and I bought it new. This has been a big let down. A disappointment 12 years in the making apparently. One that has more than ruined my day. I honestly don't want this truck. It's scarred for life. That's obvious and not reversible. But now I'm under water on a loan for a truck that's not worth its weight in scrap metal. That's neither right nor fair.

On Tuesday, December 20th 2016 at approximately 7:15pm while driving South on new river road in Lincoln ri I tried to make a left turn onto a side street. When I turned the steering wheel left it was snatched out of my hands and the steering wheel automatically turned back to center it self. I could not maneuver the vehicle as it rolled up onto the sidewalk where I had to use the emergency brake to force the vehicle from rolling into a tree. The vehicle dic displayed "park assist" and afterwards the vehicle went completely dead...no lights or sounds when I tried turning the key to restart it. Lifted up the hood and all the electronics came back on and vehicle started. Dic prompt displayed "open and then close the driver side window" had vehicle taken to dealer for service.

The infotainment screen is very distracting when driving at night. Regardless of the system displayed, (radio, phone, or just the clock/off screen), the lighting is too bright. This is extremely distracting to the driver. The dash light dimmer control switch works the dash lights and the infotainment screen. If one were to dim the dash lights so that the infotainment light is low enough to be acceptable, then the dash lights are too low to be effective and used. The infotainment screen should have a separate remote switch knob to control just the infotainment screen. I contacted the GMC customer service #, and they confirmed that this is the way it is designed, and could not be altered or adjusted. Clarification on the date of incident and mileage above, as this has occuered since day of purchase.

I recently purchased a 2015 GMC Sierra K1500 slt. I selected the slt for the projector headlights which are not offered on the lower trims for improved lighting. However, the headlights have extremely poor illumination (cannot see off to the side of the road, very dim, poor projection in front) in low or high beam. The headlights are the worst on any vehicle that I have owned over the past 35 years. I almost hit a deer on the road at night, driving 35 mph, because the deer could not be seen in the visible arc of the low beams until too late. The deer was standing on the road fog line. I located a GM document on several truck forums concerning this issue. Original document # 4093100, pit5374 (2/27/2015) and followup document # 4109395, pit5374A (3/9/2015).

During night operation with the instrument cluster adjusted to proper brightness the center console lights and most notably, the intellilink screen are dangerously bright. The intellilink screen does not have an independent brightness control from the dimmer. When set to off in an attempt to mitigate the problem, the intellilink screen reactivates with subsystem adjustment, e.g. temperature adjustment, absolutely destroying night vision of the driver. If adjusting the brightness level to acceptable for the center console lighting and intellilink the instrument cluster is so dim that it requires unsafe levels of driver attention to process the dimly lit information. Dealer verified issue on two service visits but unable to correct per manufacturer. Safety complaint registered by me with GMC infotainment customer support.
