At 47,000 miles. I noticed a slight vibration in the front end while braking on the highway. Over the next 2 weeks the vibration became considerable worse. It felt as though the rotors became warped which I have experienced during vehicle testing at previous employments. I replaced the front brake rotors and brake pads. During removal of the old brakes, I quickly noticed that 1 of the 4 pads was completely corroded through the backing plate. Brake pad contact area with the rotor was fine, but the backing plate had holes in it from the level of corrosion. Other 3 brake pads were fine, very minor surface corrosion at worst. Since replacing my brakes the vibration has never repeated.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that the brake pedal was difficult to depress. The contact had to apply extreme force to the brake pedal to ensure that the vehicle came to a complete stop. The vehicle was towed to a dealer (covert Chevrolet Buick GMC bastrop, 702 tx-71, bastrop, tx 78602, (512) 303-2311) for further inspection and diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14V339000 (steering, service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 16V651000 (air bags, seat belts). The approximate failure mileage was 29,004. Parts distribution disconnect.

I was in a parking lot (thankfully) when the brake pedal was hard to push, and the truck did not stop immediately. There is a technical service bulletin issues for this problem pit5405B.

Backing boat down boat ramp (not a steep ramp) in trailer mode, braking did not stop vehicle. Pumped pedal several times, used lots of force on pedal. Because of slow speed and increased effort, the vehicle did stop. Pulled forward and repeated at slower reverse speed and same poor braking. Dry conditions, brakes dry, did not put rear wheels in water. Have not had a repeated event. Dealer indicated that service bulletin pit5361B applies, but because of mileage it is not warranty. This should be a recall.

Brake failure while towing a 3500 pound boat. Vacuum booster system failure. I was moving slowly through a parking lot pulling my boat, when I pushed the brakes the truck did not stop. The brake pedal bottomed out and the truck and trailer continued to move forward slowly

On 2/5/2017 while turning unto my street the steering wheel locked and I could not move my truck from hitting a block wall. I also tried breaking but the car did not stop in time to not hit the wall. I was driving slowly (20 mph) because I was in a neighborhood and me and my family were all wearing seatbelts so no one was seriously injured. The airbags did not deploy at all. And I also bent the steering wheel in half trying to move it. I am attaching a picture of the steering wheel itself and the vehicle is currently at caliber collisions for the repairs. I went to the GM dealer and they said they would run diagnostics after the truck comes out of the shop.
