I am driving down the road and next thing I know the radio starts flashing screens. This is very distracting while you are trying to drive. It also changes the radio stations and changes the screens on the dash. I had to wait for over 6 months for a new unit to come in and have had the unit replaced once now. After it was replaced it worked for 2 weeks before it started going haywire again. It now changes screens and does a flash dance. Refuses to connect to my phone anymore and changes screens on the dash constantly. I am starting to think that this year model truck is defective and they need to recall this year model... and give me a new truck.
The radio has no sound (screen works) during low temperatures (Canada). I have to drive some kms with heater, stop the truck, open the door to reset the head unit and start again and it works.
this has been an issue for over a year. When using GPS especially, the head unit malfunctions. The truck has been in the shop 8 times for this. Finally, Ed Morse of NPR replaced head unit. This did NOT fix the issue. Must be an electrical or computer issue. Now GM completely denies the issue.
