drive train growls like a bad carrier bearing or imbalance

I've had other GMC owners ask me if mine makes the same noise. They describe it differently than I but I'm sure they're experiencing the same problem. Either the transmission has vibration from extra gears, or something in the drive train needs additional engineering.
