We were towing a trailer on the weekend and after getting some gas the check engine light was on after starting the truck. Our personal code reader indicated a fault with the Electronic Control Module. Took it to the mechanic for a diagnosis and was told that the ECM was failing and was in need of replacement. Almost $1000 CAD later the module was replaced. No other issues with the ECM following replacement.

I contacted GMC about the problem and was told through email that my vehicle was covered under a special warranty, good until 06/10/2021 or 120,095 miles for the engine control module repair. I live on the Island of Hawaii and there is no GMC dealer hear so I was told by the GMC representative to take it to a local car dealer that do GMC warranty repairs and I would also be refunded for any out of pocket expense, which did cost me roughly $1200. After following through their advise I forwarded the receipts to GMC. There response was that the repair was not covered and I would not be refunded my money.

I purchased this vehicle used and has been nothing but trouble ever since. The electrical system has been trouble and nobody seems to be able to repair the problems. My dash gauges flick back and forth by themselves, the door locks go on and off repeatedly. Chimes sound repeatedly, dash lights (Stabilitrak, engine and backup alert) dic give warnings. Transmission doesn't shift and the list goes on and on including intermittently won't start (security issue). Ran out of money to put in to it to not get repaired. When I try to explain my problems to people, I get glazed over looks like. I'm totally hallucinating and they always can't duplicate the problem and I pay for their time for nothing

I have found a way to temporarily get my truck going when this happens by disconnecting the battery for about 30 seconds and it usually is enough to get me to work. I have found it necessary to carry tools with me so I can disconnect the battery on the road which is usually

necessary.
