Sierra 1500 4WD 8-cyl

  • 78,000 miles
Thankfully I was driving on a city road at about 25-30 mph. When I heard a loud squeak and a little noise. I thought that something must have fallen in the bed of the truck. I looked in my mirror and saw my spare tire laying in the middle of the lane. Thankfully, there were no cars following. I turned around and found that the cable that holds the spare tire up under the bed of the truck had broken and dropped the tire and the components that hold the spare tire in place where laying on the pavement. I normally drive on a very busy interstate road at 70 mph. I can not even imagine what could have happen this had happened on that road! I am sure that someone could have been killed! I have contacted a dealer and I am still waiting to hear what they want to charge me to fix the issue.

After being stopped with engine off and emergency brake engaged, started engine, disengaged emergency brake and accelerated. Significant vibration in the rear of the truck. Took vehicle to Chevrolet/GMC dealership and was advised that the rear wheel cylinders were leaking and needed to be replaced after only 43500 miles. This incident followed an issue on 11-29-12 where the throttle position sensor malfunctioned and the engine ran very rough and the truck was difficult to stop.
