Vehicle will randomly show a warning signal for stabiltrack turning off. Then it will cycle door locks up and down, turn on the air bag light, ABS light, and sometimes reduce power to 20 mph. It will also kill the vehicle gauges. Numerous trips to the shop have failed to correct the issue. A quick google search of stabiltrack 2009 Chevy/GMC will show a ton of hits. Due to the safety concerns of these critical systems powering down, this is clearly a safety issue. This occurs while the vehicle is in motion, which makes it more concerning. This issue started with 66K miles and has persisted. Vehicle now has 96K.
Stability control. The stabilitrack warning appears. All of the gauges go to zero, the power locks engage and disengage, the engine revs and the driver loses control of the truck. This is an extremely dangerous problem. The dealership can't find anything wrong because no codes are showing. This needs to be a major recall. It's a common problem, google it and see how many people have the same issue with no resolution. Force GM to address and resolve this known issue.
I can not remember the three other times the elec. Stability control, has went out. This time my children were in the car. No issues of crash, but this is now becoming a problem, I have taken it back all times to be fixed at the dealer. All time they say its fixed. This time the engine started hesitating and choking out, mis firing.. im glad it was at low speeds.. this is a problem and needs to be fixed.
