Service air bag light on pertains to the drivers side air bag - which is not susceptible to Takata Recall...never knew that until now, only the passenger air bag is covered by the 'recall'....my recall memo never mentioned or distinguished a particular air bag.....an air bag is an air bag! Called a GM service desk and got a quote of $99.00 (1 hour) for an evaluation, of which will go towards the 'remedy' cost....about $250.00 for the damn sensor and labor costs of $200.00 - $300.00. I'm sure that the sensor is made in Mexico or China. I have a 'failed' window actuator from 25K mileage....and I know that it is a NAFTA product....I won't buy another GM product, considering the lousy warranty (3 yr/36K miles) !
