The contact owns a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that after the dealer serviced the front passenger-??s side air bag inflator under recall, the passenger-??s side air bag warning light failed to illuminate with a passenger seated in the passenger-??s seat. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with a code reader, which showed an incorrect installation of equipment code. The dealer was made aware of the failure and diagnosed the vehicle with Sensing Diagnostic Module (SDM) sensor failure. The dealer informed the contact that the Sensing Diagnostic Control Module needed to be reprogrammed or replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 176,000.
