I have a 2006 gmc sierra . Can you believe this . Replaced right front wheel bearing twice (12/06/2012 and again on 11/11/2013 ) and that is the good side. Replaced the left front wheel bearing SIX TIMES. here are the details: 1st time 7/7/11 49320 miles lasted 6055 miles to next replacement 2nd time 8/24/12 55375 miles lasted 6725 miles to next replacement 3rd time 3/25/13 62100 miles lasted 2866 miles to next replacement 4th time 6/13/13 64966 miles lasted 2034 miles to next replacement 5th time 8/1/13 67000 miles lasted 21545 miles to next replacement going on now 6/16/16 How screwed up is this. Can't get answer from any of the 3 repair shops I used. IS THIS THE QUALITY WE GET FROM GMC AS WELL AS ANY REPLACEMENT PARTS AND SERVICE WE USE. I was thinking about replacing this truck but it is tough to do when money is hard to come by . One repair center said it will not matter because anything we buy is gunk ( GMC, FORD, Chevy ) and that we should just expect to spend big dollars on repairs .. Is this what it has come down to. Thought I had my dream truck. Was I wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shame on you auto industry!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hard to make a living when your transportation is sub standard. Maybe I need fundme.com but I do not feel right asking for help. I will have to live with this money pit of a truck

Sierra 1500 W/T 4.8L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 115,000 miles

This was just one wheel bearing, the mechanic(friend) says the other will likely follow. It could be done way cheaper if you do it yourself, but it is hard to remove the old one usually.

Sierra 1500 WT 4.8L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 42,804 miles

Truck always serviced regularly, never plowed with, never abused and always kept in garage. Front wheel bearing / hub should not have failed at 42,804. This tells me the vehicle has an inherent quality problem. I was going to purchased a brand new GMC Sierra within the next year, but now it is very doubtful. I am very unhappy with this problem and I expect it will only be a short time before I will need to replace the other front bearing / hub. Very disappointed in this product.
