I have changed my oil every 3,000 miles, like clock work. All of a sudden, it started using oil, and a lot of it. I called my dealer that I purchased it from, and told him I was using a quart every thousand miles. The dealer asked how many miles I had on it and I told him I turned 36,000 miles. He told me that it was out of warranty, but they said they haven't had any problems. He then told me they could pour something in the oil to see where the leak is. I told him that the engine had not used any oil, then it was using oil. I told him that the bottom of the garage floor was dry. It seemed to be blowing out the exhaust. I have owned GM trucks all my life and this was the first to use this amount of oil. I only drive 2-5 miles a day and it does not show for a while. When I do drive on a small trip, it is very annoying. I did call GM on their 800 number, but they said they didn't show any complaints. I told them I have seen a lot of news on this problem on the internet. From what I have read, it seems there is no oil usage, or it is heavy oil usage. One site showed it seemed to show when the vehicle hit 35,000 miles. I love my GM vehicles, my truck still looks brand new, BUT I feel I have been screwed...
