Turn key and electrical system acts dead. Nothing works. You are NOT going anywhere. So, imagine being in a parking lot at night or anytime you need to use the vehicle. ...................... Pennsylvania, November 5, 2014: It happened for the first time when I had to go to work. No alternative. I lost $200 that day. Since it acted dead, I took the battery out and brought it to a auto parts store to be tested. The test showed battery good enough to start vehicle but needs charging. ... So, I put battery back in and turned key. Truck started right up. I then connected a Load Tester to the battery. The tester showed the alternator was charging and the battery was strong. So I drove it to my mechanic where it sat for two more days. Mechanic said, since I disconnected battery, any codes would have been erased. He couldn't find anything wrong. He charged me $20.00 All total, I lost $600. not being able to use truck for work, for three days. ...................... Pa., Nov. 15, 2014: After driving out and about for an hour then, having truck sit [turned off] for another two hours, I get in, put key in, and turn key. Yikes. The electrical system is dead! I then took key out, turned it over, put back in, and turned it. Electrical still acted dead. I tried again. Nothing. I got out and walked around for five minutes, got back in, put key in ignition, and turned it. Truck started right up.
