The contact owns a 2004 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that he noticed that the brake lines were corroded. There was no warning indicating the failure. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer nor repaired. The VIN was unavailable. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.

: the contact stated while driving at an unknown speed, the brakes were applied and failed. When the brake pedal was pressed, it was spongy and went to the floor. The vehicle was stopped without incident. The rear stainless steel brake line had split. The vehicle has not been taken to the dealer for inspection and the manufacturer has not been alerted.
