I have a 2000 GMC Sierra with all power seats. The seat back is stuck in the recline position wont return. This happened a few years back. I had brought to the dealer as soon it happened.they charged me $84 to tell me that I needed a new seat that cost around $950. Well I hardly used the seat to make the gear strip. I am not a mechanic, but the seat works fine excluding the seat back. I could not afford the new seat at the time so the dealer was able to bring it back to a normal driving position.since then my young son has played with the controls and reclined it to an unsafe position. Considering this is actually where the controls of a motor vehicle are located I would call this unsafe, not to mention a rear end collision would cause a serious injury due to the fact that the seat is in an unwanted reclined position.,making the support and head rest useless.
