The engine restarted with slow acceleration and unknown warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the throttle position sensor was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.

As a result he had to use both feet to engage the brakes in order to slow down the vehicle. The failure recurred causing the vehicle to crash into another vehicle.
