I have owned my 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 for a few years now and am concerned about a safety issue with the vehicle. I noticed recently that the dash board is cracked in several places. I have never been involved in an accident and the vehicle is mostly garage kept. What concerns me is the cracking that is around the passenger side air bag and the possibility of the cracked pieces becoming projectiles if the airbag were to deploy. Once I found out that these cracks were present I did some research and found that this is a common trait among 2007-2013 GM trucks. I have seen pictures online on the GM truck forum and on a dedicated facebook page regarding many other owners who have vehicles with these cracks. Some of them even own vehicles in the 20,000 mile range. I wanted to bring this to your attention, and let you know that this is a common problem which could become a safety concern for many GM truck owners. To my knowledge there is no recall at this time.
2007 GMC crewcab Sierra with 5.3 liter, auto, has had three plastic fuel line failures in last two years. After detecting a fuel odor, gas was found to be dripping/sprayed in the area of the exhaust pipe. Appears to be a fire risk. Same truck was delivered with warped flex plate, and has experienced major and repeated A/C failures. This truck is driven by a 50's female, has never towed, been off road etc. It is at a repair shop but has about 35000 miles on it.
