So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
When I first took truck to GMC service dept. I was told a bolt fell out of steering (somewhere in shaft). The service staff attempted to place a temporary bolt in until the ordered bolt came in. This failed; the temp bolt wouldn't go in. I was told to be very careful driving until fixed. The next day the bolt came in; they attempted to put it in. They told me it wouldn't go in; it was stipped. A new "shaft link" had to be ordered. Again, I was told to be very careful in driving. Next day I was called in. They replaced part. This cost me $335.87 which I felt I shouldn't have to pay. When I questioned it I was told it's no longer under warranty and is my cost. I wrote them a check for the total !
